The Federal Communications Commission proposed a fine of $1.4 million against ABC TV and several of its affiliates for showing obscene material. According to FCC Commissioner Deborah Taylor Tate:

Welch’s Promises of Accountability Up in Smoke

Today over on his Salon.com blog, Glenn Greenwald once again highlighted the ineptitude of the Democratic-led Congress in dealing with the corrupt, law-breaking White House, here. This put me in mind of Peter Welch’s response to Vermont citizens calling for Bush and Cheney’s impeachment last spring. Welch is Vermont’s freshman Representative. Here’s a quote from [...]
Dead Too Young

I can’t say I was a big fan of Heath Ledger. I’ve seen a few of his films, and he impressed me as a fine young actor. His death is sad. I want to comment on the coverage of his death. You can view the removal of his body in a body bag on the [...]

Tears for Fears

The outcome of tomorrow’s New Hampshire primary probably won’t determine who the nominees will be, but it will likely weed out a few more of the candidates. I have given money to support the candidacy of Bill Richardson, though I never expected him to have a chance to carve his way into the media’s consciousness [...]
Happy New Year

So it is now 2008! Seems not all that long ago that we were all wondering what would become of us come Y2K. Of course, we thought the disaster lurking around the corner was in our technological infrastructure, but as it turns out the real disaster was George W. Bush, who would “win” the presidential [...]
