Sarah Palin’s reaction to the Legislature’s Troopergate report is an embarrassment to Alaskans and the nation.
That’s the opinion of the editors of the Anchorage Daily News… and it should be the opinion of every American. That a Republican is denying any responsibility for anything is no news, however. That’s been the MO of the Bush administration, the McCain campaign, and the right-wingers from coast to coast. Now they have even tried to float the idea that the stock market crash is actually a reaction to the probability of an Obama presidency. So, the economic meltdown has nothing to do with the people who have been running the government the past eight years… nope, nuh huh… It’s about that guy who might win the election — even if that were the case (which, of course, is nonsense), what would that say about the effectiveness of the boys in power?
The truth is that not one of the policies tried by the Republicans in the past eight years has any merit and certainly has had no benefit to anyone except a handful of influential industries (military contractors and energy conglomerates). Do I need to list these failures?
But does the right take any responsibility or accept any accountability? No. They have instead relied upon lies and deception… just as Sarah Palin has in her assertion that she has been vindicated by a report that finds that she broke the law.
